She would knit socks for her sons (+ son in-laws) and cardigans that were sent to orphanages. She passed away two years ago and has knitted as long as she was able. I'd always preferred crochet over knitting, I find it easier and it's so much faster. I do prefer the look and feel of most knitted items over crochet, especially in clothes.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><i>Mijn oma heeft me jaren geleden leren breien. Maar, ik vind de meeste breiwerken mooier qua textuur, vooral bij kledingstukken.</i></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEjsrlpWRPJ5xHs4anUhr-whiiofojqcS04zt5eqh9dVlDb-xXwl37sXzAkUeraxJGPAEMPYTf3_MycxRKF4u0XncaZVLuZbnWJ7WWFtXAJ3tyJd7YV7C89E6QodqRV8X48r_6WF0mkMTQ5GNr4iuZD8b8mbrX09Y491Eggg4Q9frW0JvoAdGjzVanE7=s4032" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEjsrlpWRPJ5xHs4anUhr-whiiofojqcS04zt5eqh9dVlDb-xXwl37sXzAkUeraxJGPAEMPYTf3_MycxRKF4u0XncaZVLuZbnWJ7WWFtXAJ3tyJd7YV7C89E6QodqRV8X48r_6WF0mkMTQ5GNr4iuZD8b8mbrX09Y491Eggg4Q9frW0JvoAdGjzVanE7=w300-h400" width="300" /></a><span><a name='more'></a></span><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEjewOkbva-hfh9p-HpPcIBrMoAhCI0DwL2MYf3ENwqjdNMwTZrrljKTyLNrJmd5a_OsEQ455NAZVuYnty1NSpk-MnvHA4G6nw0uYhYkg0uJIuj8NYaPXe9EbyhoS6B1g4oI8G3eKb1auIJX-fXECnk_Q99NEl75dR6CqX11hZWaMMa0B5k7ITdao7xh=s4032" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEjewOkbva-hfh9p-HpPcIBrMoAhCI0DwL2MYf3ENwqjdNMwTZrrljKTyLNrJmd5a_OsEQ455NAZVuYnty1NSpk-MnvHA4G6nw0uYhYkg0uJIuj8NYaPXe9EbyhoS6B1g4oI8G3eKb1auIJX-fXECnk_Q99NEl75dR6CqX11hZWaMMa0B5k7ITdao7xh=w300-h400" width="300" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">A few years ago, I learned how to knit socks through Winwick Mum's blog. I love combining colours, trying new patterns. Small blankets hook up relatively quick, which I particularly like. Big projects tend to make me lose interest over time.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><i>Ik heb al heel wat gehaakte babydekentjes gemaakt de afgelopen jaren. Bij grote projecten raak ik altijd verveeld voor het af is.</i></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><i><br /></i></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I thought it would be fun to do a roundup of several of my finished projects! I will share the patterns and yarn I used to make it (if I remember well).</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><i>Het leek me leuk om een aantal van mijn dekentjes op een rijtje te zetten. During Spring and Summer, I spent most of my time on my plants. My house was filled with cuttings and the garden and balcony kept me busy too. Shorter days and cooler temperatures make me want to spend more time in the house. Crafting, cooking and <a href="https://www.postcrossing.com/" target="_blank">Postcrossing </a>fit my needs right now. I started Postcrossing in July 2010, many moons ago. Was super active for a couple of years, then on and off till today. One of my new coworkers mentioned she's an active Postcrosser, so I decided to dust off my account on there.<span><a name='more'></a></span></div><div><div style="text-align: left;"><i><div style="text-align: left;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEhDQYvMW1yvCTiZnWoJ0gzAL9GNvsYuxYH39UWRRY6QP3nHI7shUvfJSQl5i5D6q6S1XXfF_EM-VcqhyL4HuXhrMROT42JfQKdi2yPgIPY3iq0REug28po0M3jEnkQZXzXQR_8eUyklnMjF91ZO5UkcE9DYxvh0OS-_y1GdMicjStq3lc4AsiLobG3p=s3872" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2904" data-original-width="3872" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEhDQYvMW1yvCTiZnWoJ0gzAL9GNvsYuxYH39UWRRY6QP3nHI7shUvfJSQl5i5D6q6S1XXfF_EM-VcqhyL4HuXhrMROT42JfQKdi2yPgIPY3iq0REug28po0M3jEnkQZXzXQR_8eUyklnMjF91ZO5UkcE9DYxvh0OS-_y1GdMicjStq3lc4AsiLobG3p=s320" width="320" /></a></div></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><i>Nu het seizoen veranderd, veranderen mijn hobby's mee. I loved writing about what I created and blogging also motivated me to create more. Besides this blog, I was active in couple of online craft communities and forums. Naast deze blog, was ik actief in verschillende creatieve communities en op forums.</i></div><div><br /></div><div>Instagram's popularity and usability caused me to stop writing. I didn't stop creating though! But in a world that's fast and busy, I do take less time for the things I enjoy most. Things that slow me down and make me happy.</div><div> </div><div><i>De populariteit en het gemak van Instagram, heeft ervoor gezorgd dat ik gestopt ben met schrijven. Die me vertragen en blij maken.</i></div><div><i><br /></i></div><div>This blog intends to do just that: help me slow down by writing about the things I enjoy most. Currently those things are houseplants, crochet, baking, walking and Postcrossing.
